Lake County Man Alleges in Suit That Developer of Luxury Community Is Intimidating Homeowners

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A homeowner in a Lake County luxury community said he has been dealing with "terroristic" and "mafia-like" behavior from the developer. Don Juravin  filed a lawsuit claiming that when he spoke up, he was retaliated against. Even though  Bella Collina  has been around more than 15 years, the massive Montverde-area development is still mostly a ghost town with very few residents. The latest suit is one of many lawsuits filed against current and past developers. Juravin  and his wife showed Channel 9's Steve Barrett wiring that he believes was cut outside their home as retaliation for complaints he made about the community. "For 16 years -- this place existed for 16 years, and only 5 or 6 percent is occupied with family," he said. "It tells you the situation." Juravin filed a lawsuit last week in Lake County alleging libel, business interference, invasion of privacy, and breach of contract, among other things. He sa

A resident of the lakeside luxury community  Bella Collina  said authorities want him to remove a “Black Lives Matter” sign he put up in his yard in the wake of last month’s police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Don Karl Juravin  on Friday planted the 13-foot-by-4-foot sign, in support of “peaceful protesters” and mistreatment of African Americans, in the front yard of his $1.7 million home near Montverde in south Lake. But he was notified this week by a Lake County court that he might be in violation of an injunction forbidding him from putting up any yard sign without permission from the property owners association. That order stems from a lawsuit in which he alleged the development used a “terroristic, mafia-style campaign” to bully and silence him. “It’s not the message,” said Randall Greene, CEO of RG Developments/Bella Collina Partners, of the Black Lives Matter sign. “We agree with the message.” But  Juravin  said he didn’t think anyone would complain about the sign t

Bella Collina Residents' Experience in Bella Collina

Bella Collina , a remote community located 40 to 60 minutes away from downtown Orlando is owned by Dwight Schar and managed by  Paul E. Simonson , Dwight Schar’s right-hand finance guy. Bella Collina has been described numerous times in the last 17 years as a “GHOST TOWN,” including in the recent ABC investigative news report. 2018 sales figures, confirms resident Don Karl Juravin, that  Bella Collina  is “JINXED with BAD LUCK”. Despite  Dwight Schar  and Paul Simonson’s great efforts and investment in the last 6 years, potential buyers seem to bypass the salesmanship and have relied on facts: 17 years of dark history and questionable management. 500+ Property Owners Lost Millions in Bella Collina Dwight Schar , a billionaire, and part-owner of the NFL Redskins, used his fortune against homeowners. Together with Paul E. Simonson, they engaged in massive legal litigation against 500 families, in what many felt were unfair fees, and so he “took” their properties. To some degree, this
